Former Caretaker Minister Vassil Grudev Has Attended a Meeting with Pope Francis

At the invitation of the Pontifical Institute for the Promotion of Christian Unity, Mr. Vassil Grudev, former caretaker minister of agriculture and executive director of DF “Agriculture”, attended an audience with the Holy Father – Pope Francis and received his personal blessing and gratitude for the help that Mr. Grudev provided for the repair and restoration of the Roman Catholic sanctuaries in Belene and Malko Tarnovo.

The two landmark churches, which are objects of pilgrimage for the followers of the largest Christian denomination, were mainly renovated with funds from the EAFRD under the Rural Development Program 2014-2020.
